Electro-Magnetic Pollution
"EMF Pollution appears to be the most significant form of pollution that human activity has produced in the past century, and all the more dangerous because it is invisible and imperceptible.”
Everybody suffers from "electromagnetic contamination", "e-smog", or "electromagnetic pollution". The widespread use of technology that radiates EMF (Electro-Magnetic Field), EMR (Electro-Magnetic Radiation), and ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) constantly bombards the biofield of our bodies.
EMR (Electro-Magnetic Radiation) describes an invisible form of man-made frequencies, transmitted via the atmosphere, such as Radar, X-rays, TV/Radio waves, Microwaves, Wireless Routers, Cell phone near field Radiation, etc.
EMF (Electro-Magnetic Fields) describes the invisible electric and magnetic fields radiating from man-made alternating electrical current. Also known as "Electro-Pollution", EMFs radiate from all electrical appliances in the factory, office, home, cars, trucks and buses, and overhead tram/train lines.
How can EMFs from power lines, home wiring, airport, radar, power substations, transformers, smart meter boxes, TV's, computers, and appliances cause brain tumors, leukemia, birth defects, miscarriages, chronic fatigue, headaches, cataracts, heart problems, stress, nausea, chest pain, forgetfulness, cancer and other health problems?
At the heart of the matter is a relatively simple and well understood physical phenomenon: When electric current passes through a wire, it generates an EMF that exerts a force on surrounding objects, whatever they are. Especially the communication between all 100 trillion human cells.
Incomplete information transfer from the DNA of one cell to the DNA of another will obviously lead to distorted growth of cells, abnormal cell division, disruptions to cellular functions, and a compromised immune and endocrine system, resulting in all kinds of chronic diseases.
Scientists estimate that our daily exposure to EMF radiation is 100 million times higher today than 50 years ago. (www.EMFNews.org). Our body systems are no longer able to work as well as before the destructive interference from EMF radiation. Scientific studies have shown that EMF exposure has a cumulative effect, increasing over time.
A growing body of scientific evidence suggests that the invisible EMFs, created by everything from high-voltage utility lines to personal computers, microwave ovens, TVs, electric blankets, bedside alarm clocks, battery watches, cell phones, wireless routers, are linked to a frightening array of cancers and other serious health problems.
Some studies suggest that EMFs may promote cancer by interfering with the transmission of calcium across the cell membrane, a flow that governs such processes as muscle contraction, egg fertilization, cell division, and growth.
Depending on their wavelength and frequency, EMFs will also disturb a cell's ability to process hormone, enzyme, and other biological signals that regulate normal growth.
A San Antonio researcher discovered that human cancer cells exposed to 60 Hz fields (the frequency of electrical currents in N-America) grew as much as 24 times as fast as unexposed cells and showed greatly increased resistance to destruction by the cells of the body's defense system.
We are immersed in a world of technology, unable to escape from the moment our electronic alarm clocks awake us in the morning until the moment we snuggle under our electric blankets at the end of the day. We have been raised with the luxuries of modern appliances to simplify our lives.
Unfortunately, today we are faced with illnesses that were rare if not completely unheard of just a short century ago. While our technology continues to advance us to new heights, very little attention has been paid to the toll that such feats are exacting on our health.
It was not until very recently that a focus has been placed on the dangers associated with the very “conveniences” that were intended to improve the quality of our lives.
In the 1970’s researchers established a link between childhood leukemia and electrical power lines, creating an uproar in rural communities across America. They found that power lines, like all electrical devices, emit EMFs that had the ability to cause cancer in children.
Since this discovery, more researchers have devoted their time and attention to determining the full extent to which EMFs impact our health. While the research is relatively new, the findings are very frightening.

All power operated appliances and machinery, both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC), emit electromagnetic waves. As the electromagnetic waves radiate away from their origin, they decrease in strength rapidly, dropping off almost completely at about 4 feet.
Such EMFs are measured in terms of Gauss (G) or milligauss (mG), 1/1,000 of a Gauss. The electrical wiring in your home, when operating properly, emits between 0.5 and 0.9mG. The EPA's recommended safety standard is 1mG. Other agencies recommend 2-2.5 mG. One Tesla (T) equals 10.000 Gauss.
Extensive research has been conducted to examine the effects of EMFs on a hormone in the body called melatonin. Melatonin is secreted by the pineal gland in the center of the brain and controls the sleeping and waking cycles, enhances the immune system, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure and is a potent antioxidant that plays a part in preventing cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes and heart disease.
Studies indicate that EMF exposure can slow down melatonin secretion in the body. Researchers at the University of North Carolina concluded that the decreased levels of melatonin stemming from EMF exposure can cause depression, suicide, and possibly breast and prostate cancer.
Melatonin secretion is controlled by norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter in the brain. Receptors for its relative, the hormone epinephrine, are disturbed by certain EMFs. Further research indicated that EMFs have the ability to alter both the hormones estrogen and testosterone.

A study released in the Environmental Health Science Perspectives journal, indicates that exposure to EMFs from everyday household appliances and electronic devices has the ability to alter the DNA of brain and other cells.
EMFs create subtle changes in movement of the subatomic particles in and around the nucleus of the atoms of the molecules in each cell of our body, which could lead to various diseases. EMFs affect the nerve-cell impulses and thus the communication between cells.
Additionally, EMF exposure increases the number of free radicals in the body, which wreak havoc on the damaged DNA cells. Cells experience “cell suicide” in which a cell self-destructs because it cannot repair itself.
Most interestingly, their research suggests that even brief exposure can pose a problem, as it appears that damage builds up over time.
